If anyone reading this is thinking about going to TECC, I just want to say that riding on an elephant’s back into the pond is an incredibly wonderful life experience. Supat said the students were “surprised and amazed.” In my first time into the pond I was a little nervous, but by the end I was filled with joy, laughs, excitement, fun – and awe and respect for these beautiful, graceful, loving elephants and their mahouts.
I remember once in the past there was one woman from Brazil came to join our three day mahout training course and I assigned Jojo as her elephant, when she first saw Jojo she said Vow! giant elephant and she seemed very afraid and nervous. Then the end of three day when she had to leave TECC she met Jojo at the bathing area and she ran to hug Jojo and said my baby
For me the elephant has huge body but behind that tough skin, they are truly sweet animal.. and without elephants I do believe that we would not know each other today and become a friends… Big thank for the elephant for being Ambassador..
Supat
Note: Can not wait to meet you again Lorin..
I just commented on the video of the students in the water. They had a fantastic time – I love the water and this is the best time ever, but like I commented on the video in another blog. Supat I thank you from the bottom of my heart for capturing the picture of Tiam getting soaked in the water! He prides himself in staying dry and he really “TOOK A BATH” this time LOVE IT AND LOVE YOU. See you next year – sure do miss everyone. Please give kisses to all elephants – I miss them so much. Thank you for everything. Karen
I loved watching this video of the tourists taking their elephant for a bath. Memories of this for me just came flooding back. Taking your elephant for a bath is just so special and remember my first time I was nervous. But like Lorin’s comment you end up being filled with joy and laughter.
For me the most special time was two visits ago to TECC with John allowed me to take Prathida for a bath alone. I can not believe what a wonderful life changing experience it has been for me and the love I feel for Prathida and the other elephants and their mahouts at TECC. Looking forward to see everyone agin in October
