Khai Wan January 13 2013

This picture was taken this morning while Khai Wan the orphaned baby elephant rolling her self in the hays..  Actually Khai Wan just returned to TECC from Tak Province properly  a week ago as the owner wanted to bring his elephant back home as he said he could find the new adopted mother for this little baby elephant and then Khai Wan was loaded on the truck and headed home. After arriving at home we found that adopted mom rejected Khai Wan so we had to bring Khai Wan back to Pumpuang again. :)

This is a big shame. The country needs to make new laws to protect these elephants. I am sure Pum was very happy to see her returned. I am sure the baby missed her and that Pum missed her too.
