Looks like the baby has a very good and loving mother. Thank you so much for sending the pictures. It is a very good thing they are at TECC, they will get very good care. You know me, I always worry :)

  2. Donna Gans says:

Oh, thank you, Supat! These pictures are so very wonderful. They bring sweet tears to my eyes to see the baby elephant and her mother’s love.

I just returned from my trip to Thailand and Cambodia and am back in the States. Just in time for the inauguration of Obama!. My time with the homestay and the mahouts were very, very precious for me. I had the great fortune to work with Prathida and John. I think I offered John some funny stories to tell about my time. Like when I was with them in the forest for the evening and dismounted ( tag long) right into the bushes. My hair got tangled and John gave me elephants commands to try to free me!

What is this elephant love that has so won my heart?

    with gratitude and love,
    Donna

    • Than Donna,

You are very lucky to have Prathida as your elephant during staying at the Thai Elephant Conservation Center.. Prathida is very special elephant for me, she brought a lot of people keep coming back to TECC. I have been working over ten years and really enjoy staying with her. She is the best drummer of TECC and best of water fight..

It’s a bit sad that she is working at the Taxi elephant :( but I could not bring her back to where she was. How you feel toward Prathida is just like how I feel now..
